Who is spdrcr5?

I am spdrcr5, my name is Larry. I am 35 and live on the south shore of Long Island, in New York. I have been playing/working with computers for almost 20 years. I started out programming Microsoft BASIC, yes the original, in High School. I have taken various computer courses over the years just to get a taste of what is out there. All of the classes that I have taken have all been with the intent on eventually getting a 'real' computer job.

The first computer that I ever used was an Apple II, that was before anyone ever dreamed up the term Personal Computer. I have over the years used most of the computers that Apple has produced. The first time I used the original Mac was at my future brother-in-laws bachelor party. That was in 1983. The Mac was just introduced. The party was in D.C. for a weekend. In the middle of the living room was sitting a box with an Apple logo, two of us decided to open it up and see what it could do. To our surprise and amazement it just plugged together and started right up. I can't remember too many things about what we were able to do, I just remember that we were both amazed that their were pictures, a mouse and you were able to open windows and do all kinds of things with it. I was completely hooked.

Why spdrcr5?

If anyone has been wondering where or what spdrcr5 came from, here is the very simple story.

I am a very BIG race fan and also a cartoon fan. One of my favorite cartoons of all time is the classic, read that as 1960's cartoon Speed Racer. I took the abbreviation of speed racer and came up with spdrcr. The number 5 is because he drove a car called the Mach V, the V being the Roman numeral 5, hence spdrcr5. That is the entire story, if anyone even cares!
