Files that have helped me get my UMAX USB Scanner working

The following files have helped me in getting the USB ports to work with my computer.   I have had only positive feedback from others that have used the same files.   The following caveat must be noted:

Before even downloading these files, please make sure that you are using Windows 95 OSR2 a or b.  To make this determination:

1. You need to open up you System Properties.

1. To open the System Properties go to à Settings à Control Panel.

2. Look for the icon called System. Double Click.
   
   

2. Look on the General tab under System:.  You must have at the very least 4.00.950 a.  If you do not have a letter after the 950, then you have one of the earlier versions of Windows 95 that do not support USB.  The only work-around for you, unfortunately is to purchase Windows 98…sorry,  unless of course you have a friend that can "loan" you their copy. (Don't let Bill know I said to try this).

This is the file that will update Windows OSR2 a to OSR2 b.  Read the above before downloading.  This file is a Self-extract file, just double click on the file and it will do its thing.

Note: This file needs to extract to a Floppy.

The following files need to all be downloaded and placed in your C:\Windows\System directory.  I have listed the actual names of the files, but all files are in a zip format and need to be unzipped before they are placed in the C:\Windows\System directory.
